Short Hills Elementary School Helps 200 Essex Kids in Need Have a Happy Holiday
The Hartshorn Elementary School community helped fill the wish lists of more than 200 Essex children in county protection and foster care.
More than 200 Essex County children in need received all of the gifts on their holiday wish lists thanks to the generosity of the Hartshorn Elementary School community in Short Hills.
The Hartshorn Elementary School community participated in their annual Embrace a Child Program by providing gifts and necessities to children within the Essex County Department of Child Protection and Permanency.
Every grade and class participated as a team to provide a designated child their wish list and other essentials. In addition, individual families from the Hartshorn community also participated in providing gifts to their own designated child/children.

“I am touched by the generosity of the Hartshorn community in their efforts to help those in need,” Hartshorn Principal Kenneth Frattini said. “This was one of many community service initiatives that the students took on in the last couple of months. I look forward to the many more initiatives that will take place throughout the school year.”
More than 200 children within the Essex County Department of Child Protection and Permanency received all of the items on their wish list, as well as other necessities, brightening their holiday season.
