Watch These Essex County Officials Tackle the Ice Bucket Challenge

Don't miss this video of more than 25 Essex County employees getting soaked for a good cause.

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. and Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura just became the latest community members to get soaked for a good cause. Watch the video of their splash-down below. DiVincenzo was joined by and 25 members of the Executive’s staff on Wednesday at the South Mountain Recreation Complex in West Orange to support the ALS Association and other organizations that provide quality care for people living with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, and research to find a cure.

Divincenzo was challenged by NJ State Senator and Essex County Deputy Chief of Staff Teresa Ruiz to participate. To show Essex County’s support, DiVincenzo extended the challenge to the Sheriff and his entire cabinet. The ice bucket challenge was created by former Boston College baseball player Pete Frates, who has been living with ALS since 2012, and the ALS Association. Since July 29, many celebrities and people across the country have had a bucket of ice water poured on their head to support the cause.
