$7K In Jewelry Stolen From Valley Road Apartment Break-Ins, Cops Say

Burglars target laptop computers and jewelry.

Three separate apartments in a building on Valley Road were burglarized last week, according to Montclair Police. 

A female resident arrived at her apartment on March 12 at about 4 p.m. to find her front door pried open and four-bedroom apartment ransacked. She told police someone had broken in between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. that day. 

The woman told police there was more than $5,000 worth of jewelry missing, including three wedding bands, earrings, necklaces and rings. She also told police a Dell laptop was stolen.

Police also found two additional apartments ransacked, with pry marks on their doors.

One of the other two residents who was burglarized told police she had left her apartment at about 8 a.m. that morning. That resident also reported jewelry missing — $2,000 worth of rings, necklaces and earrings — in addition to a laptop.
