Baseball Authors to Talk at Montclair Library
Local authors and acclaimed sports writers Filip Bondy and Ron Kaplan will be at the Montclair Public Library on May 2 at 7 p.m.
It’s spring, and that means baseball season! Just in time for opening day, the Montclair Public Library presents its new spring/summer adult programming series Montclair Public Library: With the Author with a book talk on our national pastime.
Come join the library for an entertaining evening of books and baseball, on Thursday, May 2, at 7 p.m. in the main branch library auditorium, located at 50 S. Fullerton Ave.
Local authors and acclaimed sports writers Filip Bondy, a columnist for the New York Daily News and the author of "Who’s on Worst," and Ron Kaplan, a sports and features writer and editor for the New Jersey Jewish News and the author of"501 Baseball Books Fans Must Read Before They Die," are teaming up to discuss their new books, which prove why baseball is the best writing sport in America!

With chapters dedicated to topics like “Too Fat to Bat” and the “Mendoza Line,” "Who’s on Worst" is a hilarious compendium of the hitters, fielders, and pitchers who have earned themselves baseball’s most dubious honors. "501 Baseball Books Fans Must Read Before They Die" is the ultimate guide to finding the perfect books — on everything from biographies to ballpark history — for anyone who loves the game.
This program is free to the public, and no registration is required. Refreshments will be available. The library is handicapped accessible.

About the Authors
Filip Bondy is a sports columnist for the New York Daily News. He has been cited as one of the top-ten sports columnists in America by the Associated Press Sports Editors. His articles have appeared in The New York Times, Sports Illustrated, GQ, and The Village Voice. He has also authored or co-authored six books, including "Tip-Off" and "Chasing the Game."
Ron Kaplan is sports and features writer and editor for the New Jersey Jewish News. His book reviews, author interviews, and articles have appeared in publications such as the Huffington Post.
