Board of School Estimate to Vote on Budget Thursday

The meeting will take place in the George Inness Annex at 7 p.m.

On Thursday the Montclair Board of School Estimate is expected to vote on the district's proposed $111.5 million school budget for 2013-14 at 7 p.m. in the George Inness Annex, at 141 Park St.

The school budget is 3.3-percent higher than last year's, but it does not include a tax hike on residents.

In addition, the district will receive $6.5 million in state aid for the 2013-14 school year, which is the same as last year's figure. It includes $4.1 million for special education, $1.1 million in transportation aid and nearly $750,000 for security aid.
