Cicadageddon Inspires Art Contest

The cicadas are coming. The cicadas are coming — and in anticipation of their arrival adventurous chefs are digging up recipes for cicada dishes, snacks and cocktails and cicada trivia is all the buzz.

Now The Art Garage in Montclair is hoping to get a swarm of entries into its art contest honoring the 17-year Brood II cicadas set to hatch all along the East Coast this spring.

Any art medium is permissible into Cicadageddon—An Art Contest. Entries will be judged in five age categories: 5-6 years, 7-9 years, 10-12 years, 13-18 years and OPEN.

Deadline for entries is Saturday, June 15 and winners will be announced on Thursday, June 20.
