Cops: No Charges in Valentine's Day Snowball Fight, Stabbing

A man that police believe stabbed another man after a Valentine’s Day snowball fight likely won’t be answering to the law since his alleged victim refuses to press charges, according to Montclair Police.

Cops responding to the Friday afternoon incident on Mission Street met with a victim who said he was involved in a tussle as a result of a snow ball fight, according to a police report.

“At some point, while a third party was intervening to stop the fight, the victim was stabbed just above his right bicep,” cops said. 

The victim was taken to University Hospital in Newark where he received five stitches and was released shortly thereafter, according to police. 

Montclair cops eventually found the suspect—who they described as a black male wearing a gray shirt with black stripes—but both the suspect and the victim were uncooperative with police, according to the Montclair Times.

Cops told the newspaper that they knew all the individuals involved in the incident but “no one wants to press charges,” according to the report.
