Create a Habitat for Birds, Butterflies in Your Backyard

The Montclair Bird Club will meet this Wednesday at the Union Congregational Church, 176 Cooper Ave.

Learn about the environment in the Poconos and how to create a habitat for birds and butterflies in your backyard this week during the Montclair Bird Club's monthly meeting. 

An educator from the Pocono Environmental Education Center will speak at the club's Wednesday meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Union Congregational Church, 176 Cooper Ave. in Upper Montclair. 

Sheri Bone, Director of Group Program Business Development, will speak about the center, its mission, and the many programs for adults and children of all ages that are available for the public.

Additionally, she will also give a short presentation on gardening for birds and butterflies, entitled Gardening for Birds and Butterflies - If You Feed Them (and give them a home), They Will Come. 

PEEC, a world famous environmental education centre, less than a two-hour drive from Essex County, is located within the 77,000-acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, along the Delaware River.

PEEC advances environmental education, sustainable living, and appreciation for nature through hands-on experience in a national park.

The Montclair Bird Club holds regular meetings at 7:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month, except December, July and August, at the Union Congregational Church, 176 Cooper Ave., Upper Montclair.  The meetings are open to the public. There is no admission fee.
