Demonstration for Gun Legislation on Sunday
Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America will hold a stone decorating ceremony at 2 p.m. in Crane Park April 14 for those killed in gun violence.

A New Jersey chapter of a group calling for common-sense gun legislation will hold a demonstration Sunday in Montclair's Crane Park.
Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America invites the community to participate in a stone decorating ceremony in memory of each person lost to gun violence in New Jersey in the four months since the massacre in Newtown, Conn.
The event begins at 2 p.m. in Crane Park, located located off Glenridge Avenue and Lackawanna Plaza, across from the Geyer Center YMCA.

Our hope for this event is that people will devote some time to thinking about the effects of gun violence and feel engaged in the effort to secure better gun laws in the state and country.
Additionally, Moms Demand Action is asking moms to appeal to their congressional representatives to act on common-sense solutions to address the escalating problem of gun violence in the United States.
“In a country where eight children are shot and killed every day, it is imperative that Congressional representatives hear directly and frequently from American mothers,” said Shannon Watts in a press release, founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
Much like Mothers Against Drunk Driving was created to change laws regarding drunk driving, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America — www.momsdemandaction.org — was created to build support for common-sense gun legislation.
The nonpartisan grassroots movement of American mothers is demanding new and stronger solutions to lax gun laws and loopholes that jeopardize the safety of our children and families.
