Female Lieutenant Honored for Counterterrorism Work With Feds

Montclair Lt. Tracy Frazzano was chosen to collaborate with U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2011.

A Montclair Police Department lieutenant earned recognition and honors from the Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders this week for her service with both local and federal law enforcement agencies. 

Montclair Lt. Tracy Frazzano was presented with a special resolution by County Freeholder Brendan Gill Tuesday for her committed work on the Montclair Police Department and U.S. Department of Homeland Security. 

Frazzano received the resolution from Gill surrounded by members of her family and Montclair officers, including Montclair Police Chief David Sabagh.

A 17-year veteran of the Montclair Police Department, Frazzano was commissioned to a special year-long assignment in 2011 with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Federal Emergency Management Agency in Washington, D.C. 

During 2011, Frazzano collaborated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and National Counterterrorism Center on a nationwide project called Joint Counterterrorism Workshop Series to help local jurisdictions prepare for, against and respond to terrorist attacks.

Frazzano returned to the Montclair Police Department in 2012, where she holds the honor of being the first female detective, sergeant and lieutenant on the local force.
