Former Senator, Presidential Candidate Endorses Mark Alexander

Former United States Senator and Presidential candidate Bill Bradley has endorsed Mark Alexander for the 34th District Democratic primary. 

“From his time as a college intern in my Senate office, to his work as Policy Director on my 2000 presidential campaign, Mark has been a thoughtful, energized, and articulate champion of Democratic causes and progressive policies,” stated Bradley in a press release.

“I am endorsing his campaign in the 34th District Democratic primary because he is the type of leader we need in the New Jersey State Senate. He will advocate for working class families with a passion and energy that is desperately needed right now. On June 4th, I am encouraging Democrats in Clifton, East Orange, Montclair, and Orange to vote Mark Alexander for the New Jersey State Senate.”

As a Senator, Bradley led legislative initiatives to reform campaign finance regulations, expand the Earned Income Tax Credit, and overhaul the federal tax code. Bradley is also a member of the National Basketball Hall of Fame, an Olympic Gold Medal winner and attended Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar.

As a college student, Alexander interned in the Washington D.C. Senate Office of Bill Bradley and served as Bradley’s National Policy Director on his 2000 Presidential campaign.

"For the last 30 years, Senator Bradley has been a mentor and a friend, and I know I will lean heavily on him for his guidance and advice during this campaign and as a member of the New Jersey State Senate.”

Alexander is running against incumbent Nia Gill (D-Essex) in the Democratic primary in June.

Since announcing his candidacy, Alexander has raised nearly $150,000 — a 3-1 advantage over his opponent — and is aggressively campaigning across the entire legislative district, according to a press release.
