'Lion King' Star Moira Kelly Heads to Montclair State U. for Autism Fundraiser
The university's Fundraiser for Autism New Jersey will be held at Memorial Auditorium on April 29 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Acclaimed film and television star Moira Kelly will headline the second Fundraiser for Autism New Jersey held at Memorial Auditorium at Montclair State University, at 1 Normal Ave., on Monday, April 29, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Kelly will be joined by comedian Sunda Croonquist, who headlined last year’s show, and musician Alan Grant. Joining them will be Jodi DiPiazza, who recently sang with Katy Perry during last fall’s “Night of Too Many Stars” telethon on Comedy Central.
The money raised by the fundraiser will help Autism New Jersey provide education and support for teachers and other professionals responsible for educating and caring for children and adults with autism.

Kelly is best known as the voice of Nala from the animated Disney feature, “The Lion King.” She achieved fame for her starring role as Kate Moseley in “The Cutting Edge."
Croonquist headlined last year’s Autism New Jersey fundraiser. She can be seen every Wednesday night on JLTV’s “James and Sunda.” She also hosts “Mother-tainment” on Radio Titans.com.
Grant has been an active writer and performer, both as a solo artist and with bands for more than two decades. His original music blends "bluesy" rock with social and human issues that audiences all over have received enthusiastically.
The event is planned and promoted by the Montclair State University Public Relations Student Society of America, which won the 2006 United States Postal Service Executive Public Relations Challenge competition, performed public relations for 2006 and 2007 Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year, Lorena Ochoa, the fifth annual Andy Kaufman Award in 2010, the Curtain Call Award, and Hackensack University Medical Cancer Center.
