According to hospital administrators, dental decay remains one of the most common chronic conditions affecting children. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that more than four in 10 children in the U.S. have experienced cavities by kindergarten – making early screening, education and preventive care critical.
“This program gives us the opportunity to reach families who may otherwise delay or forgo dental visits,” said Aneta Wojcik, director of the Division of Dentistry at Mountainside Medical Center.
