Montclair Resident Wins Face of Bangz Contest

Montclair resident Carrie Lane Pearlman is the new face of Bangz Salon and Wellness Spa.

Pearlman won the second Face of Bangz contest held Monday at the spa, located at 23 S. Fullerton Ave. She was chosen by a panel of judges from of crop of four other candidates from Cedar Grove, Newark, New York and West Orange. 

Pearlman is 19 years old, a model and a graduate of the Hudson School in Hoboken.

The grand prize includes $1,500 in Bangz Salon Services, $500 to her charity the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a photo shoot and yearlong appearance on behalf of the Bangz Better World Foundation.

Pearlman, who had been diagnosed with juvenile diabetes when she was eight years old, has always been inspired to be a role model for others and an advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The donation to the foundation will be made through the Bangz Better World Foundation.

The yearly contest is a search for someone making a difference in their community and who exemplifies the spa's belief that beauty is both inside and outside.
