Montclair Roads to Close for African-American Heritage Day Parade

Many Montclair roads will be closed Saturday for the annual Montclair African-American Heritage Day Parade and Festival.
Montclair Police are alerting drivers in advance of the parade about which roads to avoid:

- Maple Avenue closed at Bloomfield Avenue to Lincoln Street
- Pine Street closed at Bloomfield Avenue to Glenridge Avenue
- Woodland Avenue closed at Douglas Road (Glen Ridge) entering Montclair
- Bloomfield Avenue closed at town line (Glen Ridge) to Gates Avenue
- Elm Street closed at Bloomfield Avenue to Orange Road/Llewellyn Road
- Orange Road closed from Llewellyn Road to Linden Avenue
- Cedar Avenue closed from Orange Road to Harrison Avenue
- High Street closed from Orange Road to Virginia Avenue
- Nishuane Road closed at Charles Street north to Cedar Avenue
Police suggest the following alternate routes when traveling through town:

Traveling East and West: Use Claremont Avenue, Walnut Street, and Watchung Avenue.
Traveling North and South: Use Harrison Avenue, North Mountain Avenue, and Ridgewood Avenue in Glen Ridge.
