Montclair's SOFIA to Host Domestic Awareness Vigil in Crane Park

The vigil will be held Monday, Oct. 24 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Start Out Fresh Intervention Advocates (S.O.F.I.A.) invites the communities of Essex County to take part in a candlelight vigil in honor of loved ones lost and to support survivors, as well as to promote unity throughout the community. On Monday, Oct. 24, we will gather together in Montclair’s Crane Park, located at Glenridge Ave. and Lackawanna Plaza, at 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to reaffirm our belief that With Awareness There Is Hope.

Among the speakers will be Gerri Powell, the Domestic Violence Response Team coordinator for the Montclair Police Department. Candle lights will be shared with participants, but attendees should feel free to bring their own candle or light.
