MSU Sophomore Named Women's Lacrosse All-American

Tierney Conlon helped the Red Hawks to a 15-5 record.

Tierney Conlon, of Caldwell, became the third player in Montclair State University's women’s lacrosse history to be named All-America as she was chosen to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Third Team.

Conlon, a sophomore, helped the Red Hawks to a 15-5 record, tying the school record for victories while reaching NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Championship for the fourth straight season, according to the university's website. 

The university also won its fourth consecutive Skyline Conference title as it went on the road and downed Farmingdale State 16-13 in the championship game for the second time in as many years.

Conlon earned her second consecutive First-Team All-Region accolade. The Skyline Conference and NJAC Co-Attack Player of the Year, Conlon ranked second in the nation in points scored and assists setting school records in both categories.

She tallied 133 points and had 79 assists while also scoring 54 goals. A four-time NJAC Offensive Player of the Week pick and three-time Skyline weekly honoree, Conlon was also named the Most Valuable Player of the Skyline Tournament after scoring six goals and collecting two assists against Farmingdale.

Conlon scored seven or more points 11 times this season, including three games with 10 or more. Conlon, who also added 28 ground balls, registered a season-high 11 points on four goals and seven assists in a 21-9 win over FDU-Florham on March 28.

In two seasons with the Red Hawks, Conlon has 247 points which is currently fourth all-time at Montclair State.
