Program on Borneo at the Montclair Bird Club
The presentation will highlight the Kipandi Butterfly Park, Sepilok Jungle Resort and Rainforest Discovery Center among other location.

Marjorie Barrett, a retired educator and world traveler, will present a program entitled “Borneo: More than Just Birds” at the monthly meeting of the Montclair Bird Club, on Wednesday evening, September 10.
While many birders visit Borneo to see the Bornean Bristlehead, an endemic bird in a monotypic family. But besides its wealth of birds, Borneo also has a diversity of very special flora and fauna.
In this slide presentation by Marjorie Barrett, we will visit the following: Kipandi Butterfly Park, Sepilok Jungle Resort, Rainforest Discovery Center, Gomantong Caves, Sukau Rainforest Lodge, Borneo Rainforest Lodge and Kinabalu National Park. Along the way we will see butterflies that breed in Borneo, various species of monkeys and the gentle orangutan, one of the seven species of great apes. We will learn about the world’s largest pitcher plant and a flower known as Rafflesia, which is indigenous to Malaysia. However, since these photos were taken on a birding tour, the main focus will be on Bornean birds.
