Local Business to Host Auction for Typhoon Haiyan Survivors

Goal of Roof4Roof auction is to raise $100,000 to provide new roofing to 100 Filipino families.

A Montclair business is hosting a benefit auction in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan, which has left 2 million people homeless in the Philippines. 

The auction will take place at Roof4Roof, 360 Bloomfield Ave., on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m.

All proceeds will go directly towards purchasing roofing and other building materials needed to help in the rebuilding effort in the Philippines.

The goal is to raise $100,000 to provide new roofing to 100 Filipino families affected by the typhoon.

Items to be auctioned off include: art by well known, emerging and listed artists, including Picasso, Peter Max, etc., celebrity and sports autographs, collectables by Herend, Wedgewood, Waterford and gift certificates to local businesses.

Roof4Roof is a for-profit, for-progress company created to help struggling families, in the U.S. and abroad, with one of life's most basic needs, shelter.
