Funeral for Eamonn Wholley, Cancer Support Run, Weston Award Ceremony, Get in Free at Montclair Art Museum This Week

Visitation for Montclair High School senior Eamonn Wholley will be Monday at Hugh Moriarty Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will take place Tuesday morning at St. Cassian's. Read his obituary here.

The American Cancer Society has teamed up with Fleet Feet Sports and Just Jake’s to help raise funds to find a cure. There will be a 3-mile run Monday at 6:30 p.m.

The Montclair Board of Education will meet on Monday in the Montclair High School auditorium at 7:30 p.m. A reception for the Weston Award recipients will be held prior to the BOE meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Laraja Gallery (the auditorium lobby). Read agenda.

Tuesday is the New Jersey Primary Election. Incumbent State Sen. Nia Gill is challenged by Mark Alexander in the 34th Legislative District Democratic Primary.

Montclair Celebrates — a community-based organization formed to preserve the town's Fourth of July celebrations will hold a fundraiser on Tuesday from 5 to 10 p.m. at Egan's.

It's the first week of the month which means Free First Thursday Nights at MAM. Take advantage of free admission to the Montclair Art Museum from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

The Montclair Farmers Market's 21st season is under way. The market is open on Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The works of more than two dozen local artists will be offered for under $500 to promote the collection of art at the Montclair Art Museum's fourth annual Collecting Art: An Affordable Art Fair, Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
