School Budget Review, 3rd Ward Meeting in Week Ahead

Passover on Monday night, Good Friday celebrated this week in Montclair.

On Monday, the Montclair Housing Commission will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Montclair Municipal Building, located at 205 Claremont Ave. 

On Wednesday, Third-Ward Councilor Sean Spiller will hold a community meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Montclair Public Library Main Branch Auditorium, located at 50 S. On Thursday, the Montclair Board of School Estimate will review the $111.5 million school budget during a public hearing starting at 8 p.m. in Glenfield Middle School Auditorium, located 25 Maple St.

The Montclair Board of Education adopted its 2013-14 budget last week. The budget is a 3.3-percent increase from last year, but will be accompanied by no tax hike.

Superintendent Penny MacCormack also unveiled how she plans to reshape Montclair schools next year, which includes new eight new positions.

Montclair pubic schools will be closed on Friday in observance of Good Friday.
