The Pretty Kitty Moves into Montclair

The first Pretty Kitty wax salon on the east coast has opened in Montclair. 

The new business, located at 5 S. Fullerton St., opened its doors on Jan. 7, said Lisa Lazzara, director of training and development at the salon. Lazzara said the decision to open in downtown Montclair was its concentration of so many different businesses, restaurants and things to do. 

"There is a vibe here and lots of foot traffic," said Lazzara. 

The wax salon originated out west, and the shops are located in California, Nevada and Texas. Lazzara said while she was training out west, she encountered many women from New York and New Jersey who suggested the company open sites east of the Mississippi River. 

"Montclair was a great place to start on the east coast," said Lazzara. 

The salon specialises in Brazilian waxes, said Lazzara, but also provides facial and body waxing, too. 

The Pretty Kitty has a visible storefront on S. Fullterton Street across from Church Street, with large open windows looking into its reception area. The salon also has four private waxing rooms.

When it comes to waxing, said Lazzara, the key is exfoliation to get the best results. "To maintain those smooth, sexy, silky results, you have to have the proper exfoliation regiment."
