Township Job Openings: Animal Care Tech, Part-Time Nurse

Montclair is looking for a part-time non-public school nurse and an animal care physician.

Applications can be filled out in the Human Resources Department in the municipal building, at 205 Claremont Ave., Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The closing date for both positions is March 15. 

The Montclair Health Department is seeking a licensed professional nurse to work in a non-public school assisting with medical exams, including dental screenings, review and maintenance of student medical records and immunizations; Audiometric screening; yearly scoliosis screenings; and extension of emergency care who are injured or become ill at school or participating in a school sport. 

Candidates must hold a current New Jersey registered professional nurse license (or have a temporary work permit by the New Jersey Board of Nursing) and a valid state driver's license.

School nurse experience and school nurse certification is preferred. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Montclair is also looking to hire an animal care technician for the cleaning, feeding, medicating and care of animals, adoption counseling and handling customers. Answering phones, keeping records, handling intake and general upkeep of the facility is part of the position. 

Applicants should be comfortable and enjoy working with all types of animals. Experience or background in animal handling is preferred, as well as excellent customer service skills and applicants should be able to lift least 50 pounds.
