Unabomber Victim's Widow to Receive Bulk of Proceeds From Auction

Sales of Ted Kaczynski's sweatshirt, typewriter and other possessions yield $232,000.

The widow of North Caldwell Unabomber victim Thomas Mosser will receive most of the proceeds from a recent auction of Theodore "Ted" Kaczynski’s artifacts, according to the Associated Press.

The online auction conducted by the federal government earlier this year is reported to have yielded $232,000, which will be split among two widows, a survivor’s wife and a survivor as the result of a ruling by a U.S. District Judge in Sacramento last week.

Among the items auctioned were the Unabomber's journals, sweatshirt, sunglasses and typewriter.

Kaczynski pleaded guilty to killing Mosser, an advertising executive, with a mail bomb he sent to his North Caldwell home in December 1994. Mosser, 50, was one of three killed and 23 injured in a serial bombing spree conducted by Kaczynski between 1978 and 1995.

He said he targeted Mosser because he believed his work in advertising helped to restore Exxon's image after the Exxon Valdez oil spill, as well as control the minds of consumers.
