Water To Be Shut Off Wednesday on Orange Road

Two gallons of bottled water will be delivered between 7:30 and 9 a.m. to each home affected home.

Residents living on Orange Road between Rosedale Avenue and the township line will have their water shut off on Wednesday throughout the morning and afternoon. 

The water shut off will begin around 8 a.m. Wednesday and will last for up to 10 hours as the township continues to clean water main linesin the area. 

The work began Monday and will take longer than originally expected due to unforeseen conditions found in the water system, according to the township. The Montclair Water Bureau is using a “hyper-flushing” process in the south end of town to improve water flows.

Customers who experience any major issues involving the service disruptions should call the Water Bureau at (973) 744-4600 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Some water discoloration may occur after the process in completed, however, once the water main is flushed, the discoloration will disappear.
