Yard School of Art Adds 'Short Courses'

Registration now open for classes at Montclair Art Museum.

Children, as well as adults, will return to school at the Montclair Art Museum this fall.

Registration is now open for MAM’s Yard School of Art, which offers classes, workshops and, new this fall, "short courses."

The Yard School was named the People's Choice Award Winner for "Favorite Place to Take a Kids Arts Class" and "Favorite Place to Take an Adults Arts Class" on on JerseyArts.com.

Study ceramics in the only museum-based ceramics studio in New Jersey. Expand your skills with new classes in printmaking, advanced knitting and collage. Or learn graphic design, web design, digital photography, animation and more in the school’s digital media lab. 

Newly added five-week, short courses cover a variety of subjects without making a 10-week commitment. Choose from Tonalist Landscape Painting, Encaustic Monotypes, Photoshop for Illustrators and others.

Classes are offered for children from infants to tweens. Helping Hands (18 months to age 4) helps toddlers, with their caregivers, develop social and motor skills through art. Pottery Vacation Camp (6-12), Fashion for All (9 and up), and Art Safari (5-7) are among the offerings for young artists.
