• Fully Engulfed Garage Fire Closes Route 601 For 3 Hours In Montgomery (patch.com) — Route 601 in Montgomery was shut down for more than three hours Tuesday afternoon after a detached storage garage became fully engulfed in flames, drawing multiple township fire companies and county hazmat crews. Officials say an unattended wood stove sparked the blaze, which involved hazardous materials but caused no injuries, and local tanker task forces were needed because of limited water supply on the property.
   

• Big Central Conference releases 2026-27 football division alignments (mycentraljersey.com) — Montgomery High School’s football team will compete in the Liberty Silver division alongside Hunterdon Central, North Hunterdon, Somerville, and Watchung Hills under the Big Central Conference’s new 2026–27 alignment. The reshuffle mainly affects smaller and mid-sized schools, but confirms Montgomery’s grouping as leagues across Central Jersey adjust divisions for the next two seasons.
