Woman's Scream Scares Off Burglar, Police Say
Police said man ran outside Hook Mountain Road home when he heard resident's voice.

are still investigating what they described as a at a Hook Mountain Road residence Tuesday.
Police responded to a 911 call by the female resident of the home at about 9:10 a.m. The resident said she was home alone when she thought she heard her husband, who comes in and out of the house throughout the day, enter from the lower level of the home.
The woman yelled to who she believed to be her husband from the upper level of the home and looked through the doorway to the lower level and saw a man who was not her husband running toward a doorway, police said. Police said the resident saw the man run out the back door and called police.

The man was described to be a light-skinned Hispanic male between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-9 with a slim build and short, curly, brown hair. Police said the female also said that after she called police, she saw another male in a dark blue or black two-door vehicle speed out of a neighbor's driveway with a passenger who may have been the person she saw in her home.
Police said nothing was stolen from the home. No injuries were reported but damage was sustained to the home where the man entered through the lower level door.

In addition to Montville police, the Morris County Sheriff's Department K-9 Unit and the Fairfield Police Department responded.
