A tradition of honoring veterans is a key characteristic of Robert R. Lazar Middle School in Montville Township, NJ. Annually students and teachers host veterans, and honor the fallen, in both Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day rituals.

Since the onset of the COVID19 pandemic in March of 2020, these traditions have continued, though some have shifted to virtual, and others have included only adult volunteers. Still, the Lazar tradition of honoring Montville Township’s veterans remains a consistent priority.
