Montville Recreation's Cross Country League

The Montville Recreation Department is sponsoring a CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE for children who will be 7—15 years old by December 31, 2023.

Must be Montville Township residents! *NEW Participants MUST provide copy of Birth Certificate. (Example: Currently 6 yrs. old, but will be 7 by December 31, 2023, then they are considered 7 years 0ld.)

Age Groups & Race Distances: Sub-Bantam - 7 & 8 year olds — 1700 meters (About a mile), Bantam - 9 & 10 year olds — 2000 meters (1.25 miles), Midget - 11 & 12 year olds — 3000 meters (Almost 2 miles), and Youth - 13 to 15 year olds — 4000 meters (2.5 miles).

This is an opportunity to participate in cross country and compete in the Lakeland League. Practices will include workouts & distance runs of two to three miles and games.

Head Coaches are Melissa Goglia & Diana Pelov.

Practices will take place primarily at the High School. Meets will take place on Sundays at Greystone Park.

The first practice is on Tuesday, August 22nd. Meet in rear of the High School parking lot by Amphitheater.

* MANDATORY PARENT MEETING on Thursday, SEPTEMBER 7th at 6:00pm.

Practices are as follows: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:00pm, then 6:00pm to 7:00pm as the days get shorter. * Children should try to attend all practices every week. NOTE: An additional 15 minutes may be added onto the end of practices for the longer distance runners as the season progresses.

MEETS: ALL meets are on Sundays starting early September (usually after Labor Day) until the end of October between 8am and 11am.

The LEAGUE FEE is $95.00 per child. $10.00 discount for siblings.

The JERSEY FEE if needed is $20.00 per child (This is a different jersey than the Spring Track & Field League.).

LATE FEE as of August 8th. The price will be $135.00 per person.
