Burglar Steals $40K in Jewelry in Break-In, Police Say

Also, Mount Laurel Police search for an art thief and arrest two South Jersey men on drug charges.

April 10

Theft, 3-3:30 p.m. — Someone stole a $445 stroller that was inadvertently left at Laurel Acres Park, police said.

April 12

Theft from vehicle, 9:25-10:15 a.m. — Someone stole $59 worth of recently purchased merchandise from an unlocked vehicle parked at Wegmans, according to police.

Attempted burglary (Laurel Creek), 6-8:30 p.m. — Police said someone entered a home on the unit block of Sandhurst Drive by removing a window screen and opening the window. There were so signs of force and no damage or theft was reported.

April 13

Arrest (DWI), 12:53 a.m. — Police arrested Russell A. Flett, 44, of the 2300 block of Larchmont Place, after he was stopped on Route 38, according to a report. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Burglary, 7:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. — Approximately $10 worth of medication was stolen from a residence on the unit block of Holly Cove, police said. There were no signs of forced entry.

Arrest (possession of marijuana), 3:56 p.m. — Police arrested Miami N. Can, 19, of the unit block of Pemaquid Street, Springfield, MA, for possession of marijuana after she was stopped on Route 73 for a motor vehicle violation, according to a report. Can was charged with possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was served with criminal complaints and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Burglary, 4:15-10:30 p.m. — A burglar stole approximately $40,000 worth of jewelry after forcing open the kitchen window of a home on the 100 block of Preakness Drive, police said.

April 15

Theft from vehicle (Chamonix) — Someone stole a GPS, wallet, cash and credit cards—total value approximately $450—from an unlocked vehicle parked on the unit block of Horseshoe Drive, according to police. The theft occurred between 6 p.m. April 14 and 6:30 a.m. April 15.

Burglary — Police said approximately $2,000 worth of tools were stolen from a storage trailer after a burglar forced open a garage door at C&H Landscaping on Elbo Lane. The burglary occurred between 6 p.m. April 12 and 8 a.m. April 15. No force was used to access the storage trailer, police said.

Theft from vehicle, 3:30-4 p.m. — A thief smashed the window of a vehicle parked outside LA Fitness on Dearborn Circle and stole a purse and its contents, valued at approximately $250, police said. Damage is estimated at $200.

April 16

Arrest (possession of marijuana) — Police arrested Karl K. Tennant, 27, of the 1900 block of 46th Street, Pennsauken, on an outstanding warrant, according to a report. During the arrest, on the 300 block of Tolerance Court, police found Tennant in possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and he was subsequently charged. He was served with criminal complaints and released pending a municipal court hearing.

April 17

Arrest (theft) — Police arrested Andre L. Chapman, 24, of the 3900 block of Eagleson Street, Trenton, for stealing $200 in tinting material while he was employed at South Jersey Window Tinting on Fellowship Road, according to a report. He was served with criminal complaints and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Burglary (The Lakes), 6:20-8 p.m. — A burglar stole a $1,500 painting from a home on the 5100 block of Albridge Way after entering through an unlocked door, according to police.

Arrest (drug possession) — Police arrested Michael T. Italiano, 30, of the 100 block of Eaton Way, Cherry Hill, and Jeffrey R. Kominos, 29, of the 100 block of Kent Avenue, Marlton, at the Econo Lodge on Fellowship Road during the execution of an arrest warrant for Kominos, according to a report. Italiano and Kominos were each charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a hypodermic needle, police said. Italiano was also charged with possession of marijuana (under 50 grams). Bail was set at $3,000 for Italiano and $5,000 for Kominos and both were committed to Burlington County Jail.

April 18

Arrest (DWI), 1:34 a.m. — Police arrested Michael J. Palombo, 49, of the unit block of Wisteria Court, after he was stopped on South Church Street, according to a report. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.
