Perkins Center Leader Named Top CEO By Business Magazine

Perkins Center for the Arts’ Executive Director Kahra Buss has been named one of 2023’s “Top CEOs” by South Jersey Biz Magazine.

In its January “Top CEOs and CFOs” issue, South Jersey Biz wrote:
“Buss possesses experience in public policy, private industry and government service, culminating in a 25-year career in nonprofit administration. In 2018, Buss became Perkins’ executive director; since then, her list of accomplishments includes spearheading an infrastructural redesign of the organization, strengthening its financial foundation for the long term and facilitating an expansion of programs. Buss distills her leadership approach to two primary concepts: nurturing relationships and adopting a growth mindset.”

A native of Moorestown, Buss is a Moorestown High School and Bucknell University graduate who, with her family, co-founded non-profit Live Civilly in 2011. She has been in her current role since 2018. Earlier in her career, she handled Perkins Center’s membership and special events. Buss was named by the Moorestown Service Clubs Council as “Citizen of the Year” in 2017. She and her husband Joe, also an MHS grad, are raising three daughters in Moorestown.
