Man Sexually Assaulted 2 Children Over Multiple Years In Burlington Co: Officials

A man was convicted last week of sexually assaulting two underage girls over a multi-year period in Burlington County, authorities said.

James Murray, 55, of Berlin, was found guilty Dec. 17 of two counts of aggravated sexual assault (first-degree), three counts of sexual assault (second-degree), two counts of endangering the welfare of a child (second-degree) and one count of obscenity to minors (third-degree).

The jury reached the verdict after a six-day trial and less than three hours of deliberation, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors withheld further details about the assaults to protect the victims' identities.

The prosecutor's office investigated the case with State Police.

Murray faces a mandatory minimum of 25 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for March 27.
