Prominent Chef's Dream Home For Sale In South Jersey: See Bobby Chez's Vision

The 'King of Crabcakes' designed the estate, where he hosted some of the region's most extravagant Christmas parties. Take a look inside.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown has its share of lavish houses. But it's rare to find an estate developed as a prominent chef's dream home on the market.

Professionally known as Chef Bobby Chez, Robert Sliwowski's home has stood at 343 Bridgeboro Rd. since 2005, surrounded by 4 acres of landscaped gardens that include an Olympic-sized pool and a pond with a fountain.

The property, listed last week, has an asking price of $4,388,000.

Sliwowski has been dubbed the "King of Crabcakes," with an array of culinary awards, four Bobby Chez retail stores offering specialty seafood, and wide recognition of his signature Bobby Chez Famous Jumbo Lump Crabcakes. His Moorestown home has become a landmark for holiday joy, with lavish decorations and arguably the biggest Christmas parties in South Jersey — Santa Claus has even visited via helicopter.

But no king holds his throne forever. And Bobby Chez has been looking to downsize, according to Compass Real Estate's Melissa Young, the property's salesperson.

"The kids are older, so it’s the right timing," Young told Patch.

Take a video tour:

The home features plenty of amenities fitting for a chef's brainchild. The kitchen alone includes an eight-burner range, four ovens, three subzero refrigerators, four icemakers and an island that stretches more than 20 feet.

The design has also been conducive to hosting lavish events. Those entering through 7-foot, mahogany front door will find grand, open spaces, along with plenty of quiet, cozy nooks, Young describes.

And there's no shortage of ways to entertain guests. The dining room is adorned with oversized windows, optimized for the morning sun and sunset views. The game room even features a handcrafted bar, complete with a wine refrigerator and three built-in televisions, among other luxuries.

"I showed the house the other day to an interested party," Young said. "She walked in, and she’s like, 'the overwhelming feeling of happiness and welcoming in this house is incredible.'"
