MOORESTOWN, NJ - One unlucky South Jersey convenience store faced two unrelated armed robberies just hours apart on Friday, authorities said.
The first of the two incidents, which took place on Chester Avenue in Moorestown, saw a man pull a silver handgun from his pocket and "pointed it directly" at the store clerk at around 3:47 a.m., police said.
The suspect demanded cash from the drawer, and the cashier gave him $40, police said. Then, the man ran out the door and the cashier followed him, police said.

The employee told police he saw the suspect getting into a dark-colored sedan that was parked in the 100 block of East Third Street. Police said the car turned left on Newbold Avenue. The store clerk was not hurt, police said.
The second incident, which happened at 9:11 p.m. the same day, saw a suspect throw a brick at a cashier, which struck her in her upper chest/shoulder area, police said.

The suspect then jumped over the counter where he then shoved the cashier to the ground and collected around $37 in cash from the register.
“This armed robbery is not believed to be connected to the earlier robbery,” Moorestown police said in a statement.
