VIDEO: Cow On The Loose In NJ, Seen Wandering Near Homes
The hooved culprit was captured on video roving between fenced yards and homes in South Jersey, police said.

BURLINGTON, NJ - Authorities are urging South Jersey residents not to have a cow – and instead, to calmly dial local police – following reports of a four-legged trespasser spotted near homes and yards this week (see video below).
The bovine culprit was first reported on Oct. 26 at around 10:30 p.m. near Columbus Park, where she fled on hooves towards a wooded area, Burlington City police said in a statement.
Although a perimeter was set up and an extensive search was conducted, the trespasser was not apprehended and is still at large.

Burlington City police are currently working with a local animal hospital and farmers to retrieve the cow safely, officials said. Those who see the cow are urged to call Burlington City police at 609-386-3300 to notify professionals so the cow is rescued safely.
“We will be updating our field training to better prepare for this type of incident for the future,” Burlington City police said. “We here at BCPD absolutely have the utmost respect for police officers working in rural communities, especially after last evening!”
