2011 began with two issues confronting Moorestown’s Town Council: What to do about the K.I.D.S. Initiative and what to do about town hall. 2011 ended with those same questions largely unanswered.
What to do about town hall is still up in the air, years after a fire there. Moorestown took a leap forward by , but still haven’t been —nor has . Do you think 2012 will bring answers?
Early in the year, a Moorestown resident had for town council regarding the K.I.D.S. Initiative: “Float the bond, get the money, fix the fields and do it now.” But by year’s end, none of those things had happened on the project for recreation field improvements. Council did give the town manager for the $4 million project, but will that appease residents who to for the deal?

Open space issues also came up later in the year, when advocates over using funds for Strawbridge Lake dam repairs. Spurred by what they deemed improper use of Open Space funds, a group of residents tried to pull together a ballot question money can be spent. Their first try was , so they reworded the petition, but again. The measure did not appear on the ballot.
Even amid all these hot-button issues, Moorestown had plenty of other town government news this year. The town saw record high , prompting talk of a . The Ethics Board a complaint filed against Councilman Michael Testa. Town manager , eventually leading to filling the position. Moorestown learned that Verizon in 2012.
