Police In Morris Township Honored For Drunk Driving Enforcement  

Mothers Against Drunk Driving recognized a Morris Township officer for their efforts to rid the roads of drunk drivers.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — Mothers Against Drunk Driving recently recognized a police officer from Morris Township for their work to keep drunk drivers off the roads.

In the month of December, Mothers Against Drunk Driving presented Morris Township Patrolman Ryan Macarico with the "Top Cop Award," at the organization's annual ceremony, the department announced on Facebook.

"Ptl. Macarico arrested 19 drivers that were operating motor vehicles under the influence of drugs and or alcohol," police said.

The non-profit, Mothers Against Drunk Driving's purpose is to end drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support the victims of these violent crimes, and prevent underage drinking, its website says.

"Their work along with the work of law enforcement throughout New Jersey, have kept our roads, streets, and highways safe by stopping impaired drivers," the Morris County Prosecutor's Office's said.

New Jersey motorists are considered in violation of the law if they have a blood alcohol content level of .08 percent or higher.
