Man Hit, Killed On Morris Plains Street, Police Say

Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — A man was killed Wednesday night after he was hit by a vehicle on West Hanover Avenue, police said Thursday.

The man was hit about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday near Stiles Avenue, Morris Plains police said. He was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.

The man's identity was not released Thursday pending notification of family.

Police were asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call the Morris Plains Police Department Detective Bureau at: 973-538-4210 or Morris County Crime Stoppers at: 973-COP-CALL.

They did not release a description of the vehicle or any other details about the crash, which closed part of West Hanover Avenue for several hours.
