20 Arrests, 12 Public Pee-ers, 14 Hospitalized During Morristown St. Pat's Partying

Annual day of revelry in Morristown comes with hefty police report.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Another St. Patrick’s Day parade, another day of revelry and fun in Morristown.

It also means another scorecard of arrests and public disturbances tallied during a 20-hour period from 7 a.m. Saturday, March 12 to 3 a.m. Sunday, March 13.

According to Morristown Police, 20 arrests were made for the following reasons:

  • Disorderly conduct: 6
  • Defiant trespassing: 3
  • Simple assault: 7
  • Aggravated assault: 1
  • Underage possession of alcohol: 4
  • Resisting arrest: 1
  • Possession of controlled dangerous substance: 1
  • Possession of fraudulent identification: 1

Morristown police Lt. Stuart Greer noted that some arrested parties had multiple charges.

A total of 59 tickets were issued for a variation of ordinance violations. Those included:

  • Urinating in public: 12
  • Drinking in public/open container: 44
  • Soliciting without a license: 2
  • Littering in public: 1

On top of all that, despite the streets of downtown Morristown being jam-packed for most of the day, there a total of eight motor vehicle crashes reported and 22 Emergency Medical Services responses resulting in 14 people being taken to the hospital. Those were broken down:

  • Intoxicated person: 12
  • Fall victim: 2
  • Assault victim: 3
  • Medical emergency: 1
  • Pedestrian struck: 1
  • Other: 2
