MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — The remnants of Hurricane Ida did a number on Morris County, but there may be some clear weather this weekend. Events include carnivals, the reopening of Fort Nonsense and the Never Forget Walk.

If you're ready to leave home, there's plenty to do in Morris County this weekend. Here are five activities:

Boonton Fire Department's Labor Day Carnival and Parade

Thursday's festivities got canceled amid the aftermath of Ida, but the festival will open Friday evening and run through Sunday. Enjoy rides, fireworks and more at Boonton High School. The Boonton Fire Department will also hold its Labor Day Parade at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Find more info here.

Mendham Pastime Club Annual Labor Day Carnival

Another carnival is back, running Friday through Monday. The four-day celebration features rides for all ages, food and treats, games and prizes — including “The Big One” giant 50/50 raffle. Find more info here.

Fort Nonsense Reopens

Morristown National Historical Park reopened Fort Nonsense on Friday after a closure of more than two months. The area was closed to the public in mid-June due to a roadway and parking area pavement rehabilitation project. The grounds of all areas are open, and visitors can enter the Jockey Hollow Visitor Center, Ford Mansion at Washington's Headquarters and Washington's Headquarters Museum from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Never Forget Walk

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is holding a parade and barbecue in Morristown as part of their signature event, the Never Forget Walk: Following the Footsteps of the Fallen. The Never Forget Walk is taking Chairman and CEO Frank Siller over 500 miles from Washington, D.C. to Manhattan to honor the heroism of first responders of lost their lives on 9/11. The parade begins at 11 a.m. Sunday outside the Hyatt Regency Morristown (3 Speedwell Ave.). The barbecue, which will feature the 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobil Exhibit, begins at 11:30 a.m. outside Town Hall (200 South St.). Read more: Tunnel To Towers 'Never Forget' Walk Coming To Morristown

Labor Day Weekend at Ort Farms

Ort Farms will host another weekend of fun. They're hoping the sunflower trail will be open for one last weekend. The apple orchard and u-cut flower patch are also open. The farm will also have hayrides, pony rides and train rides from 10-5 p.m. Saturday to Monday, with live music from 1-4 p.m. those days. Click here to find more info and get tickets.
