5 Things To Do Thanksgiving Weekend In Morris County

Santa's arrival, Hanukkah celebrations and more: there's plenty to do in Morris County this holiday weekend.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — If you find some energy after that Thanksgiving food coma, there's plenty going on throughout Morris County throughout the weekend.

Here are five potential activities:

Santa's Arrival

The Christmas Festival at the Morristown Green kicks off with Santa's Arrival at 5 p.m. Sunday. Last year, Santa Claus sat behind glass because of the pandemic. But children will be able to enter the Santa House this year. Accompanying adults must show proof of vaccination to enter without a mask.

Family activities, entertainment and Santa visits and photos will take place from 12-7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays throughout December until Dec. 19. The festivities will also take place on three Fridays — Dec. 3, 10 and 17 — from 3-8 p.m. Activities are free for visitors, with the exception of a $10 fee for a photo with Santa. Santa Magic Show and Photos with Santa

Sit back, relax and enjoy a Christmas magic show from Santa's helpers and Santa himself. After the show, there will be photos with Santa. Tickets cost $18 each, but children 2 and under can get in free. The first show takes place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Morley's Magic Theater (18 Boonton Ave., Butler). Find out more and get tickets.

Chanukah Family Festival

Chabad Center of Northwest NJ and the WML Women’s Club invites the public the enjoy the first night of Hanukkah. The event will feature a menorah lighting, crafts for kids and Hanukkah treats, including donuts and latkes.

The event is free and open to the community. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Chabad Center of Northwest New Jersey (100 White Meadow Rd., Rockaway). Find out more here.

Secret Santa Holiday Giveaway in Madison

Shop in Madison on four consecutive Saturdays from Nov. 27 through Dec. 18 between 12-3 p.m., and you may be randomly approached by a special "Secret Santa" and awarded a Madison gift check for $25, $50 or $100. Find out more here.

Denville Holiday Parade

See Santa arrive to town courtesy of the Denville Fire Department, lead by a line of entertainment, community organizations, festive floats and more. The parade runs from 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday. Find out more here.
