Authorities Investigating Attempted Bank Robbery In Morristown

Morristown Police are currently investigating a reported attempted robbery at the Bank of America branch on South Street.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown police are investigating what officials believe was an attempted robbery at a Bank of America branch last week.

At approximately 3:32 p.m. Friday, police were dispatched to the bank at 188 South St. after a reported robbery attempt, according to Morristown Public Safety Director Michael Corcoran Jr.

A bank assistant manager told officers that a man approached a teller and handed over an envelope under suspicious circumstances. Although the note inside was illegible, the teller, concerned by the man’s behavior and appearance, activated the bank’s silent alarm.
