Body Found A Half-Mile From Burning Car In Morris Co.: Police

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — The body of a man believed to have driven a car that caught fire early Saturday morning was later discovered in Lynn Park, according to officials.

Authorities said Sunday that Anthony Zaccaro, 33, of Sussex, was found dead Saturday afternoon in Lincoln Park, authorities said.

Zaccaro was discovered dead eight hours after a burning vehicle was discovered about a half-mile away.

According to the Morris County prosecutor's office, the death of Zaccaro is not considered suspicious.

The Lincoln Park police and fire departments responded to an active car fire near 4 Ungerer Road at 7:16 a.m. Saturday, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. The man was not inside the car, and authorities did not say whether there were any other passengers.

Later Saturday, shortly after 3 p.m., a man's body was discovered in a wooded area of Lynn Park, according to officials. On Sunday afternoon, the prosecutor's office confirmed that the man was the car's driver.

The cause and manner of death are still pending a determination by the Morris County Medical Examiner’s office.

"At this time there is no indication of suspicious criminal activity," Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said.
