Son Of Legendary NJ Guitarist To Perform At Morris Museum
The son of the NJ native, along with his band, will be honoring his father with a special tribute concert.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. That phrase rings true with Martin Pizzarelli, who will be performing at the Morris Museum soon.
Martin is the son of Bucky Pizzarelli, a legendary guitarist and NJ native, who’s performed with the likes of Benny Goodman to Miles Davis.
Over the span of a 70-year career, the Paterson-born musician got his major start playing with The Tonight Show Band on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.

He’d go on to record several albums and tour with jazz legends. Bucky would continue to play until 2020, when he died from COVID-19 complications.
Bucky’s music, however, lives on through his son Martin, a jazz double-bassist.
