MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — The Kohl's store located within Briarcliff Commons has been forced to close after a car crashed into the building on Tuesday night, according to Police Chief Michael Koroski.

Two vehicles collided in the parking lot of the department store shortly after 5 p.m. One of the vehicles involved continued driving forward and collided with the building away from the main entrance.

Koroski stated that no injuries were sustained by the drivers, store occupants, or pedestrians in the parking lot.

Kohl's was forced to close due to structural concerns caused by the crash.

According to officials, it is unknown when the building will reopen to the public.

A summons was issued to one of the drivers for failing to stop or yield the right of way at a stop sign, Koroski said.
