The mayor said he plans to run as a team with three current Town Council members this November, seeking his fifth term.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — With the New Year underway, Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty is looking ahead to this November's municipal election for mayor and several Town Council seats.
On Wednesday, Dougherty announced he and three current council members — President Nathan Umbriac, Councilwoman Toshiba Foster and Councilman David Silva — would campaign together in the 2025 election.
“Morristown is a special place, and I am mindful every day that I have a major responsibility to ensure that Morristown continues to be the ideal town to live, to work and to raise a family, as well as to feel safe and proud to call it home,” Dougherty said in a statement.

The Democrat, who is currently serving his fourth team as mayor, said he believes Morristown's "best days are ahead of us."
The Dougherty team will run on the message "Experience Matters," and the mayor pointed to the growth in development that the town has seen these past few years. This includes big commercial tenants Sanofi and KPMG, and the new Valley National Bank headquarters on Speedwell Avenue.
