One person is dead after the car they were driving crashed into a tree and caught fire on Wednesday night, authorities said. On Feb. 1 at approximately 11:20 p.m., the Morris County Prosecutors' office was notified by the Morris Township Police of a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Southgate Parkway near the intersection with South Street.

Morris Plains Man Found Guilty Of Sexually Assaulting 8-Year-Old

A jury found a Morris Plains resident guilty on all charges Friday relating to his sexual assault of a child in Parsippany. Amit Bhatt, 43, faces several decades in prison. The charges arose from a 2017 incident in which Bhatt sexually assaulted and inappropriately touched an 8-year-old, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.
