Ex-Morris Principal Pleads Guilty To Pharmacy Scam: Feds
Officials say the former principal defrauded the state healthcare plan by billing it for unnecessary medications.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A former Morris County principal admitted his role in a pharmaceutical fraud scheme, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said.
Peter Frazzano, 46, from Randolph, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit health care fraud in federal court. Frazzano was accused of defrauding the N.J. State Health Benefits plan by billing for fake prescriptions, Carpenito said.
From November 2014 to March 2016, Frazzano billed for medically unnecessary compounded pharmaceuticals, including scar creams, pain creams, and metabolic supplements. Officials say he recruited a doctor to sign prescriptions for him without ever actually interacting with him.
