Man Sentenced For Sexually Assaulting 8-Year-Old In Morris County
Alexander Masariego-Flores, 45, has been sentenced to 46 years in state prison for sexually assaulting an 8-year-old child in Morristown.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — A former Morristown resident who was convicted in December of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old has been sentenced to 46 years in state prison, officials said.
Alexander Masariego-Flores, 45, was convicted on three counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, two counts of second-degree sexual assault, and two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office announced.
Masariego-Flores will not be eligible for parole until he serves 85 percent of the sentence. The sentence also requires him to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law and places him on Parole Supervision for Life, officials said.

The Morristown Police Department said it received a referral regarding the alleged sexual assault on September 16, 2023.
Prosecutors said the investigation revealed that Masariego-Flores repeatedly sexually assaulted an 8-year-old at a residence in town between February and September 2023. Police added that one of the assaults allegedly took place in the presence of another child.

Judge Claudia R. Jones, who presided over the sentencing, ordered that Masariego-Flores have no contact with the victim or their family.
